The reward of honesty

 

Once a girl named Mohona was coming from school. At that time she noticed a money bag lying beside the road. She thought for a while. At first she was in a fix. Then she thought over the situation. At first she didn’t want to take it because it might cause problem. But she was a very responsible girl. She also thought about the other sides. If anybody got it, he might use it for himself. But if she took it, she would be able to return it to its owner. So, finding no other way she took the bag to her home.

She informed the officer in charge about the bag. The police officer was surprised to see her honesty. However, he opened the money bag. He saw a big amount of money there. He also got an address and a phone number in the bag then. He dialed the number. He asked the man to come to the police station and take the money bag. The owner came very shortly. He could not believe that he would get the bag so easily. After a while, he heard about the girl, Mohona who found his bag. He became very happy to see the girl’s honesty . He wanted to reward her with some money. But she didn’t take it. They both became astonished at her honesty and integrity. A reporter heard everything and published the news in the newspaper. Now Mohona became a model of honesty to everyone.
