A Memorable Day or, Saving a Drowning Life

Last Saturday was a memorable day in my life. I went to the river for taking bath. The bathing place not crowded enough then. Only two boys were bathing at that time. Suddenly one of them fell into deep water and cried out loudly for help. I was then walking along the river side. The boy was drowning at about a hundred yards distant from me.

Title : A Memorable Day or, Saving a Drowning Life

Last Saturday was a memorable day in my life. I went to the river for taking bath. The bathing place not crowded enough then. Only two boys were bathing at that time. Suddenly one of them fell into deep water and cried out loudly for help. I was then walking along the river side. The boy was drowning at about a hundred yards distant from me. As soon as I heard the loud cry, I understood the matter and without wasting a second I jumped into the river. The boy was struggling hard to keep himself above water. But he could not do so for long. When I reached the spot, I found only the movement of water but no sign of the boy. I hurriedly dived and quickly held his body. When I reached the shore with the boy, there was a great crowd waiting for us. As I was tired, some persons as well as the boy’s parents took him from my shoulder and rushed to a nearby medical center. The whole crowd appreciated me greatly for my act. His parents offered me special thanks and gratitude. Each and every one spoke of me highly as a brave and helpful youth. But I think it was my moral duty to save a dying boy.
